HANDS OFF MISSISSIPPI
(HÄNDE WEG VON MISSISSIPPI)

It’s summer vacation, and 10-year-old Emma is glad to be back at her grandma’s farm, with her beloved animals and all her friends in the little country town. But this summer something is different: Mr. Klipperbusch recently passed away, and his only heir, his nephew Albert, apparently has big plans for his uncle´s estate. Emma is only concerned about Klipperbusch’s horse Mississippi. Albert wants to get rid of Missi, as Emma calls her, and finds a willing buyer in Emma’s grandmother Dolly. In spite of the mare’s reputation as a stubborn, willful animal, Emma is confident that she can gain the horse’s trust. But when Klipperbusch’s last will and testament is opened, Albert is suddenly willing to pay a small fortune to buy back Missi ... Emma investigates and finds out that Albert wants to have a huge supermarket built on the property, which would mean the death of the town’s small shops. But there’s a catch: Klipperbusch’s will stipulates that Albert can only inherit the property if he takes good care of Mississippi ... Convinced that Albert will find a way to handily ‘dispose’ of this problem, Emma undertakes a campaign to foil Albert’s plans, and save Mississippi and the local shopkeepers from the clutches of the unscrupulous businessman.
